The Awakening

“…knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” Romans 13:11

Mission Statement:

To awaken and empower young men & women to be front line servants of Christ in their own communities; and bring back love, hope and change to their communities through hands-on training and participation in community service initiatives such as: feeding the homeless, streets clean-up and beautification, urban literacy, financial literacy, sponsoring orphanages, home repair projects and visiting nursing home facilities.

About Us:

The Awakening is a Christian movement initiated to be a catalyst for positive change in America’s cities. Frustrated with disparities that foster negativity and hatred, we seek to activate youth and young adults of all backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses in positive engagement to help transform their communities by committing selfless acts of service. Partisan politics, protesting, disgruntlement, and/or apathy are not the answer.  Instead, we have to “become the solution to the problems” that plague our communities.

What Are We Doing:

A Mission trip to our own communities! It is time for us, the Church, to bring Christ back to our communities! Each day we will provide transformational leadership development, Christian worldview, and community activism training. Each group will engage in community outreach (i.e. urban evangelism, youth enrichment, food and shelter programs, literacy programs, job preparation, construction and senior/convalescent care).

Each team (city) will execute a landmark event on the Saturday of that week to highlight positive change and touch lives.  Any proceeds will go to a philanthropic project to support that community and World missions efforts.
